Register Now: AGM and Town Hall | November 18, 2022

Tue, October 18, 2022 5:15 PM | Evonne Brant (Administrator)

Join us at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Town Hall on Friday, November 18!

Where: Online. You’ll receive a confirmation email that includes the Zoom link when you register.

When: Friday, November 18 from 12-4 p.m.

We are thrilled to announce that in the last two years we have gone from just over 350 members to over 1,000 members! That is unprecedented growth in our 30-year existence. More members mean we have more capacity to bring you more value. For instance, we will be announcing a new member benefit at the AGM!

The AGM is also where you get a chance to create the change you wish to see...by voting! Because we are so numerous now, our quorum requires more people. If you can’t make it, you can vote by proxy.

 Here’s what’s happening:

  • Resolution to revise our mission statement
  • Confirmation of incoming Board
  • Approval of financial statements
  • Presentation of Honours of the Society Award

We look forward to seeing you!

Can't come? Submit your vote by proxy!

Our AGM is where we conduct our business: approve revisions to our by-laws, elect our board of directors, approve our financial statements from the previous fiscal year and make important decisions regarding our association. We also bring you up to date on what your Board and committees have been up to and answer any questions you may have.

As a member in good standing of OSRP, you have the privilege of voting and having your voice heard. One way to do this is to attend our AGM and use your vote there. However, if you are unable to attend in person, you may still weigh in by assigning someone else to vote for you by proxy.

What is a proxy and why is it important?

proxy is a member to whom you assign the authority to vote on your behalf.

OSRP has experienced monumental growth in its membership, which means that quorum for our AGM — the minimum number of members who must be present to make the proceedings valid — has also increased. If we do not have quorum, we cannot proceed with the AGM.

If you register to attend our AGM, there is nothing more you need to do. You will be able to vote in person during the meeting.

How do I assign a proxy?

Assigning a proxy is easy. If you know a *voting member in good standing who will be attending the AGM, ask if they are willing to be your proxy. If yes, complete our short Proxy Application Form and enter their name as your proxy.

That’s it!

*Voting members are Clinical, Qualifying, Student, Honorary and Retired members.
