Christine Hakkola is the founder of Build Your Private Practice, the central hub for Canadian mental health practitioners to learn how to launch and grow thriving private practices. Christine holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and BA in Psychology from Queen’s University. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the CCPA and former Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO. With a background in consulting, management and leadership, she launched a highly successful private practice in 2016 and quickly began helping her colleagues do the same.
Today, Christine leads a team of business coaches and support staff, serving a community of 4000+ Canadian Mental Health practitioners with self-study courses, group membership programs and private coaching, and regularly teaches on the business of private practice. She is a fierce entrepreneur-at-heart who is dedicated to helping her colleagues and peers create businesses that serve their clients, while bringing them freedom, flexibility and joy. Christine is a devoted wife and mother, an ocean-lover and coffee-fiend. She lives in Maine with her wife, daughter and their Lhasa Apso, Beowulf.
Diversifying Your Income Streams Beyond 1:1 Therapy: April 12, 2023
In this webinar, we will explore common challenges that Canadian therapists in private practice face, including hitting an inevitable “ceiling” in terms of numbers of clients they can serve and earning potential. Attendees will understand how and why their impact and earning potential is limited in 1:1 therapy and how these limitations can impact a practitioners’ work-life balance, well-being, and sense of purpose.
Furthermore, several models of how to expand beyond 1:1 therapy will be presented, including building an associate practice, launching courses, groups and workshops, and more.
An outline of the next steps to take to move beyond 1:1 therapy will be given, including a roadmap of the various phases of scaling a business, what to expect, and strategies to ensure success.
