CONNECTIONCommunity is our lifeblood. We believe a vibrant and connected community of peers reduces isolation and provides support, which in turn strengthens and unifies the psychotherapy profession. Our community is evolving through our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, which we are weaving into everything we do. We have created multiple spaces for our members to meet and connect with other therapists at the OSRP, your community of peers created specifically for RPs, by RPs. For instance, our members-only email is one of the key places for our members to share ideas, resources, and expertise. This is where you can ask questions in a safe and welcoming environment. Our community also includes online and in-person discussion groups and programming for members around topics of interest for personal and professional development, such as our Mentorship Program. And our community includes our various professional committees, run by OSR members whose passion and personal experiences shape this organization into reflections of our members’ identities, needs and wants. Join a vibrant community and help create an organization that looks like you! ADVOCACYWe are a professional voice on issues that affect your practice.OSRP represents the interests of psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and with government. We advocate on issues that benefit and impact Registered Psychotherapists as a whole. We advocate to all levels of government, as well as industries (such as insurance companies), on behalf of RPs. We were instrumental in bringing the GST/HST exemption issue to national prominence. We are driven to keep working in solidarity with other provincial and national groups as a strong collective voice for the profession. We also advocate with the CRPO on behalf of our members. We have a strong, cooperative relationship with the CRPO to discuss matters that have an impact on our RPs. SUPPORTWe are the professional home for your protection and professional development. We develop programs that support you through the practice requirements form the CRPO. Supports include:
