The OSRP Board is Looking for Directors

Tue, January 23, 2024 12:35 PM | OSRP (Administrator)

The OSRP is growing and developing as an organization, representing a diverse group of over 1,000 RPs across Ontario. To do so, we need your voices.

The function of the Board of Directors is to formulate policy on matters relating to the implementation of the objectives of the Society and to oversee the implementation of such policies. Please let us know what we can do to make joining our Board a good fit for you.

Live outside of the GTA?

Don’t let that stop you from joining our Board! Our Board meetings are held via Zoom.

Clinical, Qualifying, Student and Honorary members in good standing are eligible to be nominated as Officers of the Board of Directors or the Chair of any committee. All Board members shall be elected for a period of two years.

The positions currently open are:

  • Secretary: This is a great entry-level position for the Board. It has well-defined numbers of hours per month. You don’t need to do minutes if you prefer not to. You can be trained in Board governance (you will need to thoroughly understand the by-laws and policies and procedures manual)
  • Member-at-Large: The primary role of the Member-at-Large is to become familiar with the operations of the Board of Directors. The Member-at-Large will assist the Chair in achieving the goals of the Board and, ultimately, the members of the Society. This is accomplished through effecting the policies and/or decisions made by the Board. This position provides opportunity to get to know colleagues in an atmosphere of common focus.

This position is a great step for new members to become involved in their profession while acquainting themselves with Board format and activities.

Members-at-large attend monthly Board meetings and are free to join any of the other committees in which they have a specific interest.
